Find the appropriate proximity sensor for your application on DirectIndustry.

MatWeb invites you to come discover DirectIndustry, the online industrial exhibition where you can select from among the industries leading manufacturers of proximity sensors. The DirectIndustry search engine lets you choose among all types of industrial products and components including manufacturers of composite materials, semi-finished products and metals.

                            Inductive Proximity Sensors

                            Inductive Proximity Sensors

The inductive sensor is a type of proximity switch which detects metallic objects without any physical contact. Electrical current runs through the sensor, creating an induction loop or magnetic field which varies with the proximity of metallic objects. Inductive sensors are used in applications such as metal detectors, vehicle detection systems and industrial applications which are exposed to high temperatures, abrasion, aggressive solvents and fluids.

                            Hall Effect Sensors

                            Hall Effect Sensors

Hall effect sensors are used in different measurement and detection applications which include proximity, acceleration, rotary position and even current sensing. The Hall effect sensor is commonly used in the automotive industry to measure the rotational speed of wheels and shafts. The major advantage of this sensor is that there is no contact between the sensor and the rotating part. They are also available in integrated circuit formats for mobile applications such as in laptops, mobile phones and other electronics.

                            Capacitive Sensors

                            Capacitive Sensors

Choose between different capacitive sensor manufacturers on DirectIndustry. Capacitive sensors are used to measure displacement, proximity, liquid level, humidity, flow, pressure and thickness. The capacitive sensor can detect both metallic and non-metallic objects at short distances. When an object enters the detection range of a capacitive sensor, an oscillation is created, modifying the electrical signal.
